From Indian Rock.MP3 The Year in Review
One of India's Leading Web Magazine's  asked to the do the Year that was 2009  below is the text you can also see it on their Web site Indian Rock MP3.

Name :
Eva Dowd
City : Boston , USA

How was 2009 for you and your company / band?

My Bands : Motherjane and  Rainbow Bridge
My thoughts on the best thing to happen to Indian Music scene are personally connected to the band I promote  Motherjane ,having them recognized outside of India as the Best Indie Rock band in Asia at AVIMA  I think was a huge step  for Indian Rock Music   and did bring attention to the Indian music scene  overall , it led to Myspace Corporate office  funding the 1st ever secret show in India they contacted us right after the award/

What are your Favorite song / album from 2009?
The Two Albums  that I purchased here in the USA are:

Workshop – Khooni Murga  ~These guys just make put a smile on my face even on the worst days
Vayu – Wings of Dreams ~ 2Blue is a dear friend who I had the pleasure to meet this year in Boston
Song Don’t make me Cry from Vayu and Cookie Monster from Workshop for totally different reasons and moods  …

Please share an instance on/offstage that you can’t forget from 2009.
The most memorable moment for 2009 was calling Suraj of Motherjane and screaming in his ear you just won Best Rock Band in Asia, campaigning   for votes is hard work , being nominated is great for bands but winning really is a whole other level , I had just finished two campaigns Motherjane was nominated in but the results were not as I would personally hoped for so to tell them you were named best Rock in Asia was a thrill as I made this voting campaign not about motherjane but about India. I am  very proud how everyone joined together to make this happen. My other close  tie was through my networking helping to get Motherjane the show in Indonesia and interacting with all the new incredible  fans there it gave me such hope , yes we can do this !

What is your and your company / band’s plan for year 2010?
My company is Eva Dowd Productions it  developed out of a Passion to help Indie Musicians , it began with my friend Sanjeev Thomas of Rainbow Bridge over four years ago after learning how difficult the music scene in India was but also feeling  passionate the musicians were despite all the obstacles they faced . I started to learn everything I could about the scene there and how I could help , I worked with several bands beside Rainbow Bridge but in fall 2008 , met Motherjane and the connection was just instant , they truly got what was I was trying to do and gave this “unknown” woman in USA the reigns over their online world and with their full support we are really creating something special.

2010 will be incredible, I just feel it in every bit of my being,  I am producing my 1st album from my company for Rainbow Bridge,  I am constantly  learning about the business of music and the marketing but never want to lose touch with the passion that is the foundation and heart of it all.

2010 is all about taking it to the next level bringing the music out of India and making it global where it belongs, I am always tickled when I introduce people to the bands and they said I had no idea had that kind of music  existed in India , we have opened a lot of doors and minds we have a lot more to go.

If you had to change something from the year gone by what would that be?
Time , I wish I had more time, I have so many bands that contact me and I can just feel there passion in these heartfelt notes and simply can’t help them and frustrated I have no place to send them to , this is still a passion for me and all my time is donated so days I am a Corporate Diva and nights I am working the bands , someday I hope to make the passion a  full time reality much like the bands I have worked with throughout the years , I simply  love promoting , the PR  behind the scenes work and the energy connecting the fans to the bands.

How do you think the Indian rock scene will change from 2010 onwards?
I see tremendous changes in the Rock scene in India , as I said I have been following it closely for going on five years, when I started this years ago I never would have imagined how far it has come and it is all because of the passion of like minded  individual s uniting  , networking is so key, so many bands still want  to believe let the music do the talking , well it will only if you can get it into the hands and ears of the fans and industry execs, your biggest fan may actually be on the other side of the world you they just haven’t been introduced to you yet.  . I see Asia as the next window for Indian Music , having
Voize. My and its founder Siva Chandran pushing to bring Indian Music to the attention of Asia  is  going to make an incredible difference.  I am filled with optimism ..2009 was an incredible year 2010 will be even better, I always say any Indian  band that is successful is a success for all Indian bands because it brings attention to the whole music scene in India , so wishing every band much success in 2010 !

I was also mentioned in Nomination for Motherjane in  The Indiecision ‘09 the  a recap of the year gone by in Indian indie and a recognition of the work of its artists and those involved with the creation and promotion of the music, The Indie Of The Year is the Indian independent artist or associate whose creative and entrepreneurial work was the most impressive in 2009.
 The Article :
Cochin act Motherjane are soon becoming Indian rock’s equivalent of ’stadium’. Following the release of 2008’s Maktub the band, with their US-based promoter, took Facebook and college festivals by storm playing big outdoor gigs across the country and in the process gaining one of the most loyal fan bases of any Indian act today. Supported by the work of their label Aum-I Artistes, Motherjane are proving that the possibility of being full-time musicians in this country is not as absurd as it was.
